| There are not any easy cures for
cancer. With each holistic alternative there are both benefits
and drawbacks. Before one opts for mistletoe injections, high
colonics or other detoxifying therapies, review the following
synopsis of these cancer treatments. In
Europe, mistletoe injections have been touted as the way to
annihilate cancer cells. Weekly, the treatments are administered
twice to three times. In the United States these treatments
have not been made available. In laboratory and clinical trials,
mistletoe extracts have been demonstrated to kill certain cancer
agents in animal experiments; however, the results in human
subjects have been mixed.
High colonic have been sweeping the nation
as a means to good health. During colon therapy, waste and toxins
are removed via a process referred to as a high colonic. The
procedure calls for a plastic tube to be inserted through the
rectum and into the colon.
Almost 20 gallons of fluid is pumped into the
large intestine. This process is repeated a couple of times.
At present date, there is not any evidence to support the efficacy
of colon therapy. In fact the treatment is associated with infections
and imbalances in mineral or electrolyte --- which may be detrimental.
Despite the extolling claims, review the following
facts, benefits and drawbacks in detoxification treatments:
• Alleviates the body of damaging substances
• Stimulates the immune system to assault cancerous cells in
the body
• May be either detrimental and invasive
In general, patients diagnosed with cancer
have a functioning immune system. As a result detoxifying or
stimulating it is futile. Not to mention, cancer cells appear
to conceal themselves form the immune systems.
In summation, clinical trials have been unable
to prove that mistletoe extract, high colonics and other detoxification
treatments help removed the elements of cancer.
